Paytm starts new payment methods:
Today 7 December, Paytm announced a toll-free number 180018001234 to enable its consumers and merchants to pay and receive money instantly and also recharge their mobile phones without an internet connection. This new initiative by Paytm will allow users to pay and receive money without the use of internet and for them who don’t have smartphones.
Customers and merchants need to register with Paytm with their mobile number and will have to set their four Digit Paytm PIN. They can then enter the recipient’s mobile number, sum and their Paytm PIN to successfully transfer the money from their Paytm wallet to some other Paytm wallet. Senior VP Paytm Nitin Misra said that “We are committed to enabling more and more Indians to be able to transact digitally. The launch of our new toll free payment number is another significant step in that direction. This will allow even non-smartphone users across India go cashless”.
Almost everywhere people are using Paytm. We can do our mobile recharges, electricity bill, grocery, shopping, movie tickets, travelling, and food items by Paytm application. Paytm is being accepted in taxis, autos, coffee shops, multiplexes, parking, petrol pumps, grocery shops, restaurants, pharmacies, hospitals etc.
It is a very great move by the digital cash giant paytm in the order to join more and more people. In India there are so many people who are still not able to use internet and they are facing problems in this phase of demonetization. Paytm is very exponentially growing and making their clients in huge numbers. Country like India has very big need of these types of transformation of their citizens because these are the ways which can make the country developed. Currently, over a million offline merchants across India accept Paytm as their preferred payment mode, the company claimed. Paytm has a present user base of over 160 million. The company’s investors include Ant Financials (Alipay), Alibaba Group, SAIF Partners, Sapphire Venture, Mediatek and Silicon Valley Bank.
This initiative is purposely important for the times specially when internet connectivity is slow, and continued disconnections which would stop you from using the Paytm app. The users, as well as merchants, can now use the feature just by calling the toll-free number to receive and pay money. The facility can be used to recharge their mobiles which will empower millions of non-smartphone users across India. India is country where are still so many people who do not use smart phones this initiative will definitely bring with the digital media and its uses. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on November 8 to demonetise the high value currency notes, Paytm has been betting big on government’s move to make India a cashless economy. Paytm is doing work like a remedy in this phase of demonetization for country because huge number of people doing their any payments through the paytm. This is also a very great move for countrymen because they will be able to use this digital cash medium for their daily use of payments from house as well.
