Yesterday, the wife of a BSF jawan, who went public all the way through the social media asserting poor quality of food being provided to soldiers, filed a habeas corpus plea in Delhi High Court asserting that her husband is imperceptible and the family has been incapable of contacting him for last three days. Tej Bahadur, a BSF jawan on 9th January send a video on Facebook which illustrated a meal box encompassing a watery soup like pulse which he supposed had only turmeric and salt and a scorched chapatti.
Yadav posted four videos on Facebook in January screening disgusting food at his camp next to the Indo-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that officers ended on the cunning portion for troops.
He had alleged that this was what jawans were dished up at suppertime on duty at places comprising the Line of Control with Pakistan and that jawans often went to bed on the unfilled stomach. A PIL was also filed in Delhi High Court in questing of a track to the government to depute higher officers to administer cooking of appropriate healthy food and its allocation. Now less than a month after the PIL was filed, jawan Yadav’s wife Sharmila and his family are asserting that the soldier is inaudible and that they have not been capable of contacting him. The wife has not been able to communicate with him after that as he has congested responding calls to his personal mobile phone. She has sought a high-level inquisition into his desertion and also the current denunciation of his plea for intended retirement. The wife alleged that she received a call from him on 31st January updating her that his voluntary retirement has been withdrawn and he has reserved under confinement.
Sharmila, Yadav’s wife sought the court’s help subsequent to her husband told her on 7th February that’ they are taking him on an unknown location’ Yadav’s brother in law Vijay alleged.
In an audio clip of a recorded call conversation between Yadav and his wife and in that he was heard telling her that his life was in danger and his seniors were torturing him. As per the wordings of Yadav in the clip, ‘I know too much misconduct of these officers. That’s why they are doing this to me. Please do something and convey my message to the community, Jai Hind’.
BSF spokesperson in Delhi shorn of Bahadur was apprehended but alleged that his appeal for voluntary retirement could not be conventional as a court of inquiry was on adjacent to him.
While contacted with, Ranjit Singh who general secretary in ex-paramilitary Personnel Welfare association alleged that with Sharmila and her elder brother had met the BSF director general who had assured them that a fair inquiry will be done as per the appropriate process. Mr. Singh also alleged that the BSF DG told them that the jawan was hospitalized.
