The 89th Academy awards celebrated the biggest films and great performances. The biggest night of Hollywood was held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. The Best Actor Award won by the Casey Affleck for his performance in ‘Manchester by the Sea’. Emma Stone impressed again by winning the Best actress award for her amazing performance in ‘La La Land’. ‘La La Land’ won the 6 awards out of the total 14 nominations, including best actress and best director.

The most shocking moment of this awards ceremony was when ‘Moonlight’ won the best picture, just after ‘La La Land’ was wrongly announced. The producer of the movie ‘La La Land’ said: “This is not a Joke” while standing on the stage. Further, the cast and crew of ‘Moonlight’ come upon the stage and accepted the award. The ‘Moonlight’ won the three awards, including the best picture and the best actor in a supporting role. The Jungle Book won the best Visual Effects award for the amazing VFX of the film.

The award ceremony was hosted by the Jimmy Kimmel, who took quite jibes at the President of America Donald Trump. Viola Davis also got the Oscar for the first time for best-supporting actress in “Fences” and received an enthusiastic standing ovation from the crowd. “I became an artist and always thank God because it’s the only profession where we celebrate what it means to live a life,” said Davis while breaking down and later, she thanked her family.  The 89th Academy awards will certainly remain one of the biggest and most interesting award shows in the books of History.
