“I Always Wanted To Be The Best In The World” Kohli

Indian Cricket Captain Virat Kohli said he that he always wanted to be the best in the World and knew that he would have to perform in all the formats of the game to make his dreams true.  Kohli won the Polly Umrigar award for Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) International Cricketer of the Year at the national cricket governing body’s annual awards in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The Indian cricket captain also added that it was very important for him to be at the top of his game during the middle phase for the team.

Kohli said, “I always wanted to be one of the top players in the world for sure and I understood that what it would take for me to maintain my form in all the formats. It is very important in the transition phase to be available in all the three formats and take the country forward.”

There is no doubt in that the Indian Captain is one of the finest cricketers in today’s time and he’s doing extremely well in the International Cricket. Kohli also took a jibe at his critics and said that he always believed in his skills and hard work even though there were many doubters around him.

“All along in my career, there were many people who had doubted the way I have gone about my game. Even now there are doubters and haters all around, but one thing is for sure that I have always believed in myself,” Kohli said.

He had also become the first Indian Cricketer to receive the Polly Award for the third time. The Indian Cricket team captain also said that he always believes in his heart that he’s giving 120 percent to his work every day than he’s answerable to no one. He also appreciated his teammates for their support and contribution in helping the team India in reaching the peak of Test Cricket and said that the last 12 months have been a breakthrough year in his career.

Kohli added, “It has been quite unbelievable in the last 10 to 12 months. As cricketers, you always have a breakthrough year for everyone. Starting late 2015 to the end of 2016, probably I could term is the breakthrough year in my career. All the hard work, all the training on a daily basis, all the sacrifices, came together nicely. It could not have been possible without the help of the teammates throughout.”

The Captain of Indian cricket also that when you don’t do well in some matches, but you have the champions on your side, then they deliver and starts producing good results. “That is why we are the top side in the world at the moment, and it is a testimony to the kind of talent we have on the team and how players have stepped up on occasions which helped the team pull through different situations. I thank my teammates for their support, trust, and effort,” Kohli said.

The Indian Skipper also talked about the success mantra of the team and said that in the last one year we kept the carefree attitude and belief. He said that he adopted this attitude since 2005 when I stop putting pressure on myself. Kohli also said that he works hard, have the talent and ability and that’s what he says to himself. The test captain also thanked the BCCI for giving him the opportunity to lead the Indian team. “I am thankful to BCCI for the kind of position it has put me in. I take this as an opportunity. I don’t take this as a job. It is an opportunity and a responsibility. I need to do right things, set right examples and follow a certain path that the whole team believes in.” Kohli said.

The Indian Skipper has always performed great for the team in every situation. We just wish that he’ll keep performing well for the team and always take great decisions.
