In the second attack, today by Naxals, one central Jawan, and at least 11 others were injured on Wednesday. The vehicle of C-60 commandos came under a landmine attack allegedly by the Naxals in Gadchiroli of Maharashtra. Firstly, there were reports that 12 CRPF men being injured, but later it was learned that one of the Jawan died due to his injuries. It was the second attack reported from near Bhamragad area of the district in which earlier three security officials were injured in an encounter with the Naxals in the same area.
As per the officials, the incident happened in the evening when the patrol party of C-60 commandos was crossing the area near Bhamragad area. Earlier, it was reported that at least 12 CRPF jawans were injured in the landmine blast that targeted the vehicle, but later it was discovered that the estimated number goes to 15. A senior officer said soon after the attack, “We are getting some preliminary reports that the troops, caught in the blast, belong to the C-60 force of the Maharashtra Police that conducts anti-Naxal operations.

More details are awaited,” reported by PTI. The various teams of security personnel were conducting operations in the area when they were attacked by the Naxals. Earlier on yesterday, two Maharashtrian Police and one CRPF Jawan were injured while encountering with the Naxals, as the officer said. Recently on April 24, twenty-five CRPF personnel were killed and injured in the brutal attack by the Naxalites targeting security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district.
