On 28th April 2017 the State Board of Technical Education and Training of Andhra Pradesh (SBTET AP) successfully conducted the AP POLYCET 2017 examination. A large number of eligible and interested candidates who are looking for the admissions in best polytechnic colleges applied for this and appeared for the examination across various examination centers across Andhra Pradesh who had attempted the exam well are eagerly waiting for the results. The Director of the Public Instruction (D.P.I.) used to head the Technical Education of the state also at the time of formation of Andhra Pradesh. To help speed up the process of development of Technical Education, a Board in the name and style of “STATE BOARD OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING” was created vide by G.O.Ms.No.371- Edn-dated 26-2-1957. Reservation Category Cutoff Percentage:
- For General/OBC 30% i.e. 36 marks.
- SC/ST No Cutoff percentage
According to the board, the minimum qualifying marks for declaring a candidate to have passed in the Entrance examination shall be thirty percent i.e., 36 marks out of 120 for all the candidates belonging to General category. However, for SC/ST students there are no cutoff marks. Students who will qualify in the POLYCET examination with eligibility cut off marks are eligible to get admissions into the Polytechnic colleges.
Aspirants who belongs to Scheduled castes or Scheduled Tribes shall assigned a rank for admission process irrespective of the marks obtained in the entrance test and the candidates with even less than 30% marks in POLYCET 2017 shall be eligible to compete for their category of seats during the admission, said the POLYCET 2017 booklet.
