According to the China’s state run newspaper that offer China’s ongoing military build up news, China has installed rocket launchers on disputed land in the South China Sea which is towards the off Vietnamese military combat divers where two years ago, Vietnamese had installed large numbers of fishing nets.
China has said military construction on the islands it controls in the South China Sea however the sea will be limited to only defensive requirements that it can do what it likes on its own territory. The United States has criticised what it has called China’s militarisation of its maritime outposts and It also stressed the need for freedom of movement by conducting naval patrols and periodic air near them that angered China’s Beijing too much.
The state run Defence newspaper said in a Tuesday report on its WeChat account that, Norinco CS/AR 155 mm anti frogman rocket launcher with the capability to identify, discover and attack on enemy combat divers that had been installed on Fiery Cross Reef in the Spratly Islands.
Fiery Cross Reef is administered by China but on the other hand this area is claimed by the Philippines, Vietnam and Taiwan. Although China’s territorial claims that area but Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia, Philippines and Taiwan have also rival the claim because every year, through the sea of South China more than $5 trillion of world trade is shipped all across the world.
But, the report still didn’t say anything about the launcher that when the defence system was installed, but the report said that it was considered as just a part of response that began three years ago in may when some divers who are from Vietnamese had installed large numbers of fishing nets on the Paracel Islands.
China has conducted reclamation work at Fiery Cross Reef which includes building an airport which is among one of several Chinese controlled features in the South China Sea where China has carried out such work like installing rocket launcher.
