Law Student In Kerala Chop Off Genitals Swami, Alleged Rapist

Friday night, a 23 years old law student from Kerala resorted to taking the law into her own hands, when she chopped off the penis of a 54 years old swami,  who is a self styled godman. That man had allegedly been raping from last eight year since she was a minor.
According to the complaint filed by the woman, the accused is identified as Swamy Ganeshananda, who is a member of the  Panmana Ashram,  Kollam, From the last eight years, swami had been raping her at her home. The woman said she was first raped by him when she was just 16 years old.

On Friday night, When the accused again tried to rape her at her home , the woman grabbed a sharp object and chopped off his penis. She herself called the police after that incident happened. The accused swami  was rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College where an emergency surgery was performed. However,  Hospital officials, said that 90% of his penis was cut off and was not in a state to be reattached.

Hospital official said in a statement, ” On Saturday, Nearly around 12:39am a  54 years old man from Kollam was admitted to the hospital. 90% of his penis had been cut off and was hanging precariously and doctors don’t have any way by which they it could stitch it back. Urology experts, Plastic surgeons who are  in the hospital did emergency surgery to stop the bleeding somehow  enable him to pass urine” Doctor said that  he is be out of danger now.
A case has been registered against him  under Section 376 which is for rape,  of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).

However police report says that He has told the police that he himself  chopped off his penis.
Local media reports said that They were followers of the Panmana Ashram in Kollam where swami was member. The woman’s mother has also been detained as she knew about the crime but failed to report it. In the police complaint girl said that her mother was also sexually assaulted . She said ,few years ago, her father suffered a paralysis attack. The Panmana Ashram, which was founded by social reformer Chattambi Swamikal, said, “ 15 years ago after completing his studies Swamy had left the ashram.”

Prameela Devi, member of the Kerala State Women’s Commission said,” she was proud of the woman because such an act by anyone especially when it comes under the guise of a religious tag is not acceptable at all and such peoples should be role models to all of us and for girls.”
