13 Militants Killed in 96 Hours in Kashmir, Indian Army

On Saturday, The Indian Army had  said that it has foiled five infiltration attempts in the past three days. Army officials said that in the last 96 hours 13 militants had been killed along the Line of Control (LoC).

Six militants were killed on Friday in The latest encounter occurred between the Indian Army and militants by the Army in the Uri sector. Defence spokesman of Northern Command said that The sinister designs of Pakistan Army to push-in multiple groups of the armed intruders across the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir will  continues to be defeated by proactive operations which is  being carried out on the border,” Starting from the end of winter season thaw that ends in March-April, infiltration usually went up and most of the  peaks in the period between May and July. According to a defence spokesperson report several attempts had been made by the Pakistan Army to push armed infiltrators across the LoC but were foiled by the troops at Machhil and the Naugam sectors in the Kupwara district, Gurez in the Bandipora district and Uri in the Baramulla which result in the death  of seven militants. The number of killed infiltrators after the Friday’s encounter reaches 13.

Since then, the operations in Uri and Gurez sectors have further progressed. Five armed unknown persons have also been killed in the  Uri so far and one intruder has been killed in the Gurez sector which is close to the LoC, he added.

The spokesman said the explosives, inflammable material, arms and ammunition recovered from the armed intruders indicate Pakistan’s designs to orchestrate high profile terror incidents targeting innocent civilian population and security forces during the holy month of Ramazan.

On Friday, The defence spokesperson added to his speech that all the five infiltration bids were aided by the Pakistani forces who provide them very active support, including all cover fire using the heavy calibre artillery, the Army’s Northern Command had said in a statement. According to the Army, this  has successfully thwart seven penetration attempts in less than a fortnight in the north Kashmir which causes three of the attempts  to submerge  in the Uri sector alone.

After  May 1 incident Indian army has been specially cautious , when the Pakistan Border Action Teams (BAT) penetrated into the Indian side and shamelessly beheaded two Indian soldiers. In the reply of this  attack Indian army On May 26, killed two Pakistani Border Action Team (BAT) members who tried to enter  into the Uri sector in the Baramulla district to take out an attack on the soldiers.

Next day  In the same sector Six more militants were killed when they attempted to sneak into the valley across the border side.

Friday’s attack in Uri has increased the number of infiltration attempts foiled by the Indian Army to 23 and the total number of militants killed on the LoC to 39.
