JoSAA 2017 Counselling Starts Today, Choice Filling Explained


JoSAA 2017 counselling starts from today. Interested students can apply by registering themselves on an online application form, which is available in 2017 JoSSA official website.

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Athourity) counselling 2017 offers you seat in B.E, B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Planning programs. Every year thousands of students register themselves under this and get selected for the best college and course, Students will be selected on a merit basis, Student with the high grades will get good college and college according to their choice.

JoSAA counselling registration starts today interested students can apply for it. The demand of higher education is growing day by day and the competition for higher studies is getting tough.

In India  there are total 97 Institutes, among which the divisions are as following:

  • 23 Indian Institutes of Technology(IITs)
  • 31 National Institutes of Technology(NITs)
  • 23 Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIITs)
  • 20 other government funded technical institutions(GFTIs)
  • JoSAA 2017 CounsellingStudents have numerous options, as the above universities are offering admissions for the academic session of 2017-18. JoSAA 2017 counselling and seat allotment process have been started. Students are advised to visit the official website for the application form.

All above listed Universities are regulated by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Which has been setup by JoSAA 2017. All the listed IITs are under it, and the institution other than IITs are included in NIT+system. Candidates who have qualified JEE Advance 2017 exam are eligible to fill for IITs, and also for the universities under NIT+system. Candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2017 can only apply for the course offered by the Institution of NIT+ system.

The total intake for an academic program is divided into different seat categories – Open, OBC-NCL, SC ST, Open-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD, ST-PwD. The rank lists are also prepared in the same order – Common rank list (CRL), OBC-NCL rank list, SC rank list, ST rank list, CRL-PwD rank list, OBC-NCL-PwD rank list, SC-PwD rank list and ST-PwD rank list.

Students can only apply for JoSAA 2017 counselling through an online process as there is no other source for students to apply. So, the participating students have to apply online. The online registration is a very easy process, it hasbeen started from 10 am since today morning. Students are requested to fill the form carefully by giving proper details which includes gender, state code, eligibility and nationality, and even the contact details to complete the registration process, the incomplete application will not be accepted.

After registering for JoSAA counselling 2017, Students should fill the choice of academic programs. Students can enroll themselves by logging into the JoSAA portal by entering their roll number and password provided in the JEE exam. There is no fee for choice filling students are required to admission fees only.

JoSAA registration is a 12 day long window process, which work in the following way:

  • First students have to register themselves through online application.
  • then comes the choice filling of the institutions and course.
  • After that 2 mock test for seat allocation on the 6th and 9th day.

After that the registration process will stop. So candidates should use this opportunity carefully. As after the second mock test the students have to lock their final choice and if he/she fails to lock the seat allocation then the last option will be locked automatically and the seat allotment will be done on that basis of final locked choices.

On 20 June JoSAA 2017 first mock allocation will be out based on the students  choice filling upto 5 pm so by this candidate can have some idea of getting preferred institution and course and second mock test result will be out on 23rd June by 5 pm a final chance for candidates to know their chance of getting the seat and alter their preferences accordingly. A candidate can apply maximum for 650 progammes (5th&6th year student) on the basis of their rank preferences. The whole process will be completed in seven rounds, and result of first round allocation will be released on 28 June.

JoSAA in his official website has published 2015 and 2016 opening and closing of rank admission result by which students can get idea about their standings.

JoSAA 2017 admission process will end on 26 June at 6 pm. Before that students have enough time to register themselves.
