Salman Khan starrer ‘Tubelight’ has been released all over the nation on 23rd June. The film doesn’t received much love from the critics. The film which was expected to earn 25-30 crore on its opening day has received only 21.15 crore. Tubelight amassed $1.05 million (Rs 6.6 crore) in UAE-GCC, Dubai and other areas where it was released one day ahead of India, according to boxofficeindia.com.
The movie which also stars Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and child prodigy Matin Rey Tangu did well in the northern belt. ‘Tubelight’ being Salman Khan’s Eid release is yet to garner good moolah and is expected to earn more after Monday (Eid).It has been released at 4350 screens means there were numbers for the taking.On the opening day, Tubelight recorded 30-35% of occupancy for morning shows in India, while in north alone it opened up with 45-50%.
This movie of Salman Khan which was expected to break Bahubaali: The Conclusion’s record fails to break the records of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015)40.35 crore, Sultan 36.54 crore, Ek tha tiger – 33 crore, Bajrangi Bhaijaan  – 27.25 crore, Kick – 26.52 crore, Bodyguard  – 21.60 crore. Directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight has earned less than all the movies mentioned above on its opening day.
The film was hyped immensely. But well, the opening seemed disappointing, if not phenomenal, which means no records has been created or broken here.
Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan, is an official remake of the 2015 American war drama Little Boy. It tells the story of brothers Laxman (Salman Khan) and Bharat Singh Bisht (Sohail Khan).
Keeping in mind the huge fan following and the excitement among the audiences, Tubelight got the biggest release any Bollywood movie has ever seen in India.
Tubelight has an extended weekend to rake in the moolah, with Monday also being a holiday, for Eid. Given that there are no Bollywood releases for the next two weeks, Kabir Khan’s film has a clear window at the box office. The next big Hindi release in Sridevi-starrer Mom, which hits screens on July 7.
