Russia, North Korea to Challenge US President Donald Trump Overseas

The US President Donald Trump starts his two nation European visit with an expectation of a short and warm stop in the Poland before he encounters what could be  the thornier issues and the frostier reception at an international summit in Germany. The Donald Trump had a meeting  with the Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s first intercontinental ballistic missile which is threaten to put Trump’s skills as a negotiator to the test.

Donald Trump arrive in Warsaw for a 16 hour visit on Wednesday that includes a keynote address to the Poles from Krasinski Square, site of a monument commemorating the 1944 Warsaw Uprising against the Nazis. He has done the meetings with leaders of  the Poland and the Croatia and the plans that a joint news conference his first one abroad with the Polish President, Andrzej Duda.

The meeting of  US President, Trump  with the heads of a dozen countries that is bordered by the Adriatic, Baltic and Black seas and is Collectively known as the Three Seas Initiative. The main aim of this group is to modernize energy and expand that trade with a goal of reducing the region’s dependence on Russian energy.

On Wednesday, The Duda told Polish broadcaster TVN24 that he wants to equipment on various concrete issues like energy security in the meeting with Trump that is not engage in general talk about world security. Recently, The Trump  devoted a week to US energy production.

At that time,  The Trump will have to contend with growing tensions with North Korea as it successfully launched its first intercontinental ballistic missile. He asked, he would do about North Korea, as he left the White House on Wednesday, the Trump said ,” we are going to do very well.”

The Trump is seeking China’s help in Pyongyang’s missile and nuclear weapons programs and tweeted that his frustration with China for continuing to trade with North Korea.

He wrote,” So much for China working with us but we had to give it a try.”

Xi Jinping, the Chinese President is among the nine leaders that Trump is scheduled to meet with in Germany during the Group of 20 summit of the world’s leading rich and the developing countries. The US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson planned to join the Donald Trump meeting in Germany.

Also, on Friday the Trump will walk a fine line when he meets with Putin. The highly awaited  meeting comes when the relations between the two nations are at a low point and with the president showing reluctance to adopt a harder line toward the Russia and the conclusions by multiple US intelligence agencies that the Moscow meddled in the 2016 presidential election to benefit Trump and continuing the federal and congressional investigations into the possible collusion between the Trump campaign that is associates with Russian government officials.

In the late May ,  the Trump return to Europe follows a shaky inaugural visit and was the signs of unhappiness around the world with his presidency.

Recently, the Pew Research Center survey of attitudes toward the Trump in more than three dozen countries were found to be fewer than 3 in 10 respondents expressing his confidence and his ability to do the right thing on the international affairs.

Earlier, the Trump  visit was spoiled  by many unreasonable  encounters that include a tough speech to the NATO members and  urge them to spend more on their armed forces. An uncomfortable handshake with France new president and caught on camera moment when the Trump pushed the last  prime minister of Montenegro to get to the front of the group photo opportunity. The Poland may offer him a chance to shine.

The Polish media reports say that the government promised the White House cheering crowds. The Ruling party lawmakers and the pro government activists plan to bus in groups of people to listen Trump speech. The White House did not  respond to a request for comment.

Already, the Trump’s sights set on getting re elected in 2020. the  Poland visit could also be seen as a power play for  the battleground states like Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania that is the home for  hundreds of thousands of the Polish American voters.

Also, The Trump may  seek to use the Poland as an example of partnership. The US ally in Iraq and Afghanistan and the Poland is also among the five NATO members that spend around 2 percent of their gross domestic product on their military. Something that Trump and the US leaders have demanded of NATO allies  before him.

The Poland  hosts  few thousand the US troops in addition to support the US and the NATO forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a regular purchaser of  the U.S. military equipment.

The  government of Polish  emphasized on  the Russian aggression in Ukraine poses a threat to the whole of the Europe and the something that will  be raised in the discussions of Trump as the Europeans aim to gauge his willingness to confront the Putin when they meet face to face on Friday.
