On Friday Delhi district court has issued an order against the sale of a book on yoga guru Ramdev and its publisher, Juggernaut Books, said as because it has “complied with it immediately thereafter.”
The name of the book is “The order also restrains the sale of Godman to Tycoon: The Untold Story of Baba Ramdev,” which has been authored by journalist Priyanka Pathak-Narain, on e-commerce sites such as Amazon and Flipkart.
On 11th August (today) in a statement has put a blog on it, as the Juggernaut Books said they received a copy of the order on August 10, 2017.
Where she mentions that “The order of the books was passed ex-parte without hearing either the publisher, Juggernaut Books, or the author of the book, Priyanka Pathak-Narain, just to avoid ‘the delay which would be caused during the process of serving the notice and hearing the defendants’,” read the statement.
As per the Juggernaut Books, their new book Godman to Tycoon was “a work of serious journalism” and they have worked hard for it as they are ready to stand by their book and defend the case in court.
The publisher made a statement that “The book is the product of over fifty interviews, in which many of them was taped by us, the book mainly focuses upon Baba Ramdev’s life, which including his family members with Ramdev himself and his close aides members. The book contains a detailed 25-page note on sources that lists the interviews, articles, police reports and RTI replies that are the basis of each chapter,” The book Godman to Tycoon maps is basically the yoga guru’s journey from Haridwar to setting up the Patanjali group, which is now India’s second largest FMCG company.
The author also made an effort by investigating his past, about the controversies Ramdev has been involved in – such as the mysterious deaths of his two associates, Rajeev Dixit and Swami Yogananda – and also some details about the uncertain claims made by Patanjali Ayurved.
The HT tried there best to reach out to the Baba Ramdev’s spokespersons, but all in vain as the things were uncertain and they faced unavailable for comments.
