UPPSC Announces Fresh Date For 2017 PCS Prelims Exam


The date of civil services prelims exam 2017 has been released in the official website, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially announced the date of exams. The exam will be conducted in a offline mode and UPPSC PCS prelims will be conducted on 24 September, 2017. and the date for the availability of admit card for PCS prelims exam has yet not been disclosed by the Commission.

After the release of admit card aspiring candidates can download it from the official website, students by logging into the official website entering their roll number and date of birth can easily download their UPPSC admit card.

Every year thousands of candidate appear for the said exam and this year close to 3.5 lakh aspirants have been waiting for more than 3 months to get a hold of the prelims exam date, which the commission revealed earlier this week by uploading the calendar of events on it’s website. There are 251 tentative vacancies notified under this recruitment examination. The commission had earlier set the date of this written examination as on May 21, however, has now rescheduled the test for conduct on September 24, 2017.

The exact date for the release for the ADMIT CARD, however, has not been decided yet. Considering that the exam is set for September last, it will be safe to assume that the Admit cards for the will be issued sometime around late-August or September first week.

The competitive examination consists of 3 successive stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination (Multiple Choice)
  2. Main Examination (Written Examination)
  3. Viva-Voice (Personality Test).

The candidates have to appear for two compulsory papers to qualify for the main exam. The UPPSC PCS prelims exam will be conducted offline, on OMR sheets.  Each paper will be of 200 marks and will be conducted for 2 hour duration. Both the paper will have 150-200 multiple choice questions.

It is mandatory for candidates to appear in both the papers:

  • The merit of the candidate will be determined as per the marks obtained in paper (I)
  • The candidate has to score at least 33 percent in paper (II) for the qualification.
  • Paper I will be conducted from 9:30 am to 11:30 am
  • Paper II from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
