Delhi got a real Ricky Behl (Yogesh Garg) inspired by a movie of Ranveer Singh Ladies vs Ricky Behl, over the last six years a 34-year-old man duped several women on the pretext of marrying them and would later blackmail them with intimate videos.
A man named as Yogesh alias Sameer Garg was arrested on September 5 from the New Delhi railway station while trying to flee. As per the current report, it has been informed that he had conned close relationships with 15 women of more than Rs 50 lakh in the last year alone, police said.
As per Police, he mostly targeted single women in their late 30s, similar to the way in which Ranveer Singh cheated his girl friends in the movie. Gaur mainly targets those women’s who had registered themselves on matrimonial sites.
He had been conning women since 2011.One of the victims is from Ahmedabad and another is from Noida.So far, five women in their late 30s have approached the police.
The police further informed that The females have even claimed that they were conned of Rs eight lakh respectively, The women’s claimed that the accused also got intimate with them on the pretext of marriage and fled after taking money from them.
The police said He lied to her sister that their father is sick and admitted to AIIMS. So for that reason, she agreed to come to see him but she lied to her brother saying that she is leaving for Mumbai. The victim’s sister Garg came to AIIMS along with but he sensed something amiss and escaped from there taking her along.
However, on 5th September the location of Garg’s phone indicated that he was at the New Delhi railway station, the police said. The police team proceeded there. A police team set off for the airport to nab the accused and rescue the woman and her son. A trap was laid and the accused was arrested. The woman and her son were also rescued.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara), said that the victim on the pretext of marriage had accused and lured her, he even had taken her to Vaishno Devi. After that Gaur on the pretext of making her meet his parents took her to Goa.
Gaur had been extracting money from her and had taken Rs three lakh from her, who works as a teacher, the police informed.
Garg told police that he was inspired by the Bollywood film Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, During his interrogation time.
Garg has also been charged with rape. As he had made videos of her and had threatened to upload them on social media sites if she did not pay up, they added.
He told police that pursued his MBA from one of the Indian Institutes of Management and he had completed his graduation from SRCC, He even introduce himself as the country head of a high- profile conglomerate firm and tell women that his father is a retired IAS officer, said the DCP.Garg also claimed to have studied in a prestigious institution in the United Kingdom. However, these claims were found to be false, the police said. He had been conning women since 2011.
As per inquiry, all these claims were found to be false, the police said.
