Governance is not about Winning Elections, Nation Comes First, says PM Modi


The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) does not believe in votebank politics and the party’s main agenda is country’s development, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. The PM Modi addressed a gathering of farmers in Shahanshapur on the peripheries of Varanasi and introduced schemes by the government for the assistance of UP’s small-scale industries.

“For us, governance is not about votes or winning elections. The priority is the well-being of the nation. Our culture is different as for us, the country is bigger than party. Doubling of farmers’ income is an area in which significant work is being done. Schemes like soil health card are benefiting farmers,” the PM Modi said. We will take an initiative to make Shahanshahpur open-defecation free by October 2, said PM Modi. PM Modi also said that let us make India these 5 years the way our freedom fighters dreamt of. Praising the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for organizing the cattle mela, PM Modi said it’s the sign that the state’s commitment to animal health and cattle protection.

“I want to congratulate the Uttar Pradesh Government and especially CM Adityanath for organizing the Pashudhan Arogya Mela. The focus on animal health is commendable. This focus will benefit the farmers across the state,” PM Modi said. Talking about the mega animal fair organized by the Uttar Pradesh government for the very first time in Shahanshapur, PM Modi said, “These animals don’t go to cast their ballot. They are not anyone’s voters.” “Swachhta’ has to become ‘Swabhav’, it is our collective responsibility. A cleaner India will also be a healthier India,” PM Modi added.
