On Monday RJD chief again skipped questioning by the CBI, the second time in a month, in a case against him and his son Tejashwi Yadav over alleged irregularities in issuing contracts for two IRCTC hotels in 2006 to a private company.
The RJD chief has sought two weeks to appear before the investigating agency for questioning in connection with a case of alleged graft in giving the maintenance contract for two IRCTC hotels to a private firm. RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav continued to evade questioning by the CBI.
As per sources, it is said that Tejashwi Yadav the former Bihar deputy chief minister today from the CBI has sought 15 days to appear for questioning in a case related to alleged corruption in giving the contract for running two IRCTC hotels to a private firm in 2006.
The case pertains to allegations that Lalu Yadav, as railway minister, handed over the upkeep of 2 hotels pass run by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, a subsidiary of the Indian Railways, to Sujata edifice, in Ranchi and Puri, a corporation in hand by Vinay and Vijay Kochhar, reciprocally for a chief plot of 3 acres in Patna through a benami company.
As a quid professional quoted that, he “dishonestly and fraudulently” managed award of leasing of the 2 hotels.
The FIR alleged that the RJD leader, as the railway minister, abused his official position for extending undue favours to the Kochhar and bought a “high price premium land” through a benami firm Digital Marketing Company.
Between 2010 and 2014 just after the tender was awarded to Sujata edifice, the possession of enjoyment promoting additionally modified hands from Sarla Gupta to Rabri Hindu deity and Tejashwi Yadav. Lalu Prasad by this time had resigned as railway minister.
The case has been registered by CBI against Lalu Yadav, including his wife Rabri Devi, a former Bihar chief minister, son Tejashwi, who was deputy CM until a few months ago, and Sarla Gupta, wife of Prem Chand Gupta, a former union minister.
In the FIR the others named as accused includes both directors of Sujata Hotels Vijay Kochhar and Vinay Kochhar, owner of Chanakya Hotel Delight Marketing Company, now known as Lara Projects, and then IRCTC managing director P K Goel.
