In an encounter with militants in Hajin, Bandipora, on Wednesday two Air Force Guard personnel were killed. The two militants associated with the Lashkar were also killed in the gunfight, according to the officials, as while the operation is still in progress, and for now, the officials confirmed injury of two other security personnel.
This year India faced many attacks and some of the recent attacks in Jammu and Kashmir are:
October 4, 2017: Three militants were killed by security forces in a BSF camp near the Srinagar international airport it was a sudden attack on the militants and one more BSF soldier also lost his life in a nine-hour gun battle. Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad had claimed responsibility for the attack, officials said.
September 28, 2017: BSF constable Rameez Parray, who had returned home in Hajin for a holiday, was dragged out of his house and shot dead by suspected militants, this incident is mostly considered as a targeted or a planned killing.
September 21, 2017: Near Banihal town along the Jammu- Srinagar national highway a security person was attacked by three youths, as per the information those three men’s were identified as:
- Aquib Ahmed
- And Mohammad Arif
These people were involved in the alleged militant ranks. After that in another grenade attack, two civilians were killed and nearly 30 injured in Pulwama district.
September 9, 2017: In Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag one policeman was killed and two others were injured when militants attacked a police party at a bus stand. This incident took place at least 500 yards from the venue of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s scheduled meeting, this incident is also considered as a planned one.
September 1, 2017: Three policemen were injured in the attack in a bus carrying personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police, this incident came under a militant attack.
August 27, 2017: The Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for the attack. In which around eight security personnel were killed when two-three militants sneaked into the District Police Lines, a high-security zone, in Pulwama town and targeted buildings used by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Special Operation Group (SOG).
August 14, 2017: In Budgam district of central Kashmir on 13 Aug, militants hurled a grenade attacking the security personnel.
July 10, 2017: In South Kashmir during Amarnath Yatra attack- Seven Amarnath pilgrims, including five women were killed and 15 injured when militants attacked a bus carrying at least 56 passengers at Botengo village near Anantnag, on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
June 16, 2017: In Achabal in Anantnag district Militants ambushed a police party killing six policemen.
June 13, 2017: The Tral area of Phulwama district of Kashmir Militants attacked injuring at least 1o CRPF. The same day, a series of grenade attacks on CRPF personnel were reported in different regions of the Kashmir Valley. The militants fled after retaliation by the Army.
