It has been hardly five years since Varun Dhawan entered into the film industry and the actor is already giving tough competition to many his senior-junior actors. The 30-year-old actor has added another feather to his cap as he has become one of the Bollywood celebrities to get a wax statue at the Madame Tussauds. He’ll be the fourth Indian to join Madame Tussauds Hong Kong after Amitabh Bachchan, Mahatma Gandhi, and Narendra Modi.
“Huge honour. Can’t wait to come there and stare down my wax figure. Thank you,” the actor tweeted on Monday. Dhawan has starred in many hit films like ABCD 2, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Badlapur and recently in Judwaa 2. On Madame Tussauds’ official website, the 30-year-old actor said, “It was a great experience to work with Madame Tussauds. I am so excited to get my wax figure in Hong Kong.” The special sculpting team of Madame Tussauds traveled especially to Mumbai to meet the actor and conduct in-depth sitting process. More than 200 measurements were taken in total. The hair and eye colour of the actor were also matched by the team. The actor has worked closely with the team and kept on sharing ideas on the figure’s pose.
“Varun Dhawan is one of the most requested figures and we are delighted to be partnering with this Bollywood great actor. Hong Kong is a multicultural metropolis which makes us a unique brand. Visitors can meet both Hollywood, Asian and also Bollywood stars here at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. The worldwide popularity of Bollywood films makes people in Hong Kong increasingly embrace Bollywood culture. Besides, India is the fourth largest ethnic group in Hong Kong. As the first youngest Indian Bollywood actor to be waxed, we are confident that Varun’s figure will bring visitors an all-new experience,” said the General Manager of Madame Tussauds (Hong Kong) Jenny You.
