ISRO 2017 Assistant Answer Key Release Date And Expected Cut Off Marks

On 15 October 2017 across the whole country ISRO conducted the written test for filling Assistant and Upper Division Clerk posts. The release of ISRO Assistant answer key will be released (unofficial version by coaching institutes) by the evening, while the official ISRO answer key will be out before 18th October.

Every year thousands of students appear for the said exam and this year over 1.5 lakh candidates appeared the ISRO Assistant exam, the exam was conducted at 151 centers in 12 cities in a single shift. ISRO shortlisted total 1,84,593 candidates for the written test through a screening process, out of 1.5 lakh candidates, ISRO then issued the call letters to these applicants mentioning the exam date and test venue.

The applications for ISRO recruitment were filled from July 11 to 31. The Indian Space Research Organisation of the Department of Space had advertised in July to fill 313 posts on All-India basis for:

  • 272 Assistant posts in ISRO Centres/ Units
  • 39 Assistant posts at Autonomous Institutes/ Central PSU under DOS
  • 2 UDC posts

Applicants were allotted single roll number and even only 1 call letter was issued to them even if they had applied for more than one post. The applicants were allowed to apply for Assistant as well as UDC posts, depending on their eligibility. ISRO informed that there will be one single paper for both the posts. Given the maximum number of applicants opting for Delhi center for the written test, ISRO later said that some of the candidates (who had chosen New Delhi as written test center) were allocated to another nearby exam center – Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Lucknow.

2017 ISRO Assistant and Clerk exam comprised of questions divided into groups:

  • Part A (objective type questions) Part A consisted of 90 multiple choice questions on General English/ Grammer; General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability, General Awareness; Arithmetic and Computer Literacy. Each question carried four options, out of which 1 was correct.
  • Part B (descriptive type questions). ISRO exam Part B comprised questions on precise writing, comprehension, report writing, letter writing and essay writing.

The candidates were allowed to carry the carbon copy after the conclusion of the written exam. The candidates had to mark the answers to objective type questions on OMR Answer Sheet. The OMR answer sheet also had a carbon copy to carry the impression of answers marked in the OMR sheet.  For answering the descriptive type questions, the candidates were given separate answer sheet. All the candidates had to handover the OMR and descriptive answer sheets to the invigilator.

Within three working days of the written testISRO answer, key of Assistant and UDC exam will be published on ISRO website, as per the recent updates, by this we can say that ISRO Assistant answer key and ISRO UDC answer key will be released on or before 18th October.

Once the official ISRO answer key 2017 is released officially after that the candidates will be given a 5-day window to raise the objections. The candidates will also be required to submit justifications supporting their objection.

As per the ISRO cut off marks, the candidates are required to score minimum 50 percent marks each in both objective and descriptive type questions. ISRO will publish the list of qualified candidates on the basis of the written test cut off marks. These shortlisted candidates will have to appear for Skill Test, which will be conducted to test their Computer Literacy. The candidates will have to obtain minimum 60 percent marks (on 100 points scale) in the Skill Test, while the final selection will be made on the basis of written test marks only.
