Mother and her 4 Daughters thrown out of Train in U.P.: Father arrested in Suspicion

Mother with her 4 daughters was thrown out of the train, by the father on Tuesday, the incident took place on Amritsar-Saharsa Jan Seva Express.  The dead body of the mother and another sister has been found near the railway tracks in Sitapur district, the mother too was found dead near the tracks in Maigalganj area of Lakhimpur Kheri district Wednesday morning,

One of the girls said “they both suffered the same fate,” Algun’s statement led the police to book the children’s uncle and his friend in the case. The police still look both of them as a suspect.

Police had said that a seven-year-old girl was killed and the other two sisters are critically injured when they were purportedly thrown out of the train by their drunk father and uncle.

GRP Circle Officer AK Singh said it was now clear that the family of seven – Iddu, his wife Afreen (40) and their four daughters, Rabiya (11), Anbul (7), Munni (6) and Saleeba (4) and his brother Iqbal – was going to Bihar. As the train approached Maigalganj, Afreen was the first to be thrown off and her daughter Rabia was next, the CO said.

Ashok Verma, Circle Officer (CO) of Government Railway Police (GRP), Lucknow, said, “Anbul and Saleeba identified the bodies as that of their mother and sister Munni, the elder sister Rabiya with them was too was found lying unconscious with serious injuries on her body near the railway tracks in Mahmudabad area in Sitapur around 2 pm yesterday (Tuesday). Anbul and Saleeba were found injured near the tracks in Bhawnipur area earlier at around 9 am, while Munni’s body was recovered from the tracks in Manpur area around 11 am.”

The CO said “As per the report it has been assumed that:

  • First, the mother was thrown out at Maigalganj.
  • Then Anbul and Saleeba were pushed near Bhawanipur after around 20 km
  • Then Munni, who died, was thrown out after 25 km
  • At last Rabiya was later thrown out after around 22 km in Mahmudabad area”

Iddu Ansari, the father of the four sisters, has not been made an accused as the survivors did not confirm whether he too was involved in the attack, the CO further said. And a case has been registered at the GRP police station in Sitapur against the maternal uncle Iqbal and his friend Izhaar under IPC sections:

  • 302 (murder)
  • 307 (attempt to murder)
  • And 323 (voluntarily causing hurt)

Rabiya the eldest one is suffering from serious injury had been admitted in Lucknow’s KGMU trauma centre due to her critical condition and was still unconscious. And the other two sisters are undergoing treatment in Sitapur’s district hospital.

“A police team comprising the station officer of GRP Lakhimpur Kheri, a sub-inspector and a constable has been sent to Motihari district in Bihar on the basis of information collected from the two girls who said it is their native place. The girls have given the name of their village as well and the police team will collect details during the visit.”

The CO further added that “Police are yet to discover to the motive behind the alleged attack.”
