Ryan School Murder Live: CBI alleges class 11 student killed Pradyuman as he wanted to postpone exams, parent-teacher meeting

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) held a press conference on Wednesday confirming that a class11 student was kept in custody in a link with the murder of a second grader at the Ryan International School in Gurgaon. In September, however, a bus conductor was arrested for the alleged sexual assault and murder of 8-year-old Pradyuman in the bathroom of school. The 8-year-old boy was found outside a school toilet, crawling and bleeding profusely before he took his breathes. The case was later handed over to the CBI following the victim’s parents asked for an independent probe and also moved to the Supreme Court.

12 pm: As per the TV reports, the CBI alleges the detained student was used to carry a knife to school sometimes and was also undergoing mental health treatment for a year. There’s another unconfirmed report said that apart from Pradyuman, there were four people in the CCTV footage, including Ashok (bus conductor), the class 11 suspect, and two more students.

11.55 am: The murder weapon has been recovered, as per the CBI sources.

11.52 am: The classc11 student was weak in studies and the CBI got suspicious about him as he told his classmates that exams will get postponed, according to the TV reports.

11.50 am: The ANI reports that CBI says no clean chit to the bus conductor as the agency is still investigating the charges of destruction of evidence.

11.45 am: The CBI says that they will ask custody of student accused of murder.

11.35 am: Opposite to earlier reports, ANI quotes CBI sources that there is no sexual molestation angle in the case.

11.32 am: The early investigation has revealed that accused student wanted to postpone exams as well as parent-teacher meeting, according to CBI spokesperson Abhishek Dayal.

11.30 am: The investigation agency confirmed that the Class 11 student was detained in link with murder under the Juvenile Justice Act.

11.15 am: The father of the suspect class 11 student said that his son was taken into custody for questioning a day before by the CBI. He claimed later that the agency told him that his son was being arrested because he murdered the child. “We have been cooperating with the police from day one. My son’s statement under section 164 of CrPC was also recorded. The CBI questioned him repeatedly and we cooperated,” Class 11 student’s father told to the media, claiming his son was being framed.

11 am: The ANI quoted class 11 student’s father that “They (CBI) arrested my son last night. My son has not committed the crime, he informed gardener and teachers”.
