A 17-year-old girl from Odisha was abducted and raped by a gang of four men who raped her for 10 days before police rescued the victim. The KR Puram police arrested four people on the charges of rape, kidnapping, and confinement of a 17-year-old girl. As per the police, the girl, a PU student, left home for college on October 26 saying her parents that she would go to her friend’s house for a party after finishing college. The girl stayed at her friend’s house for two days.
When she was standing near Kadugodi Railway Station on October 28, Raghavendra (27), who was known with the girl, allegedly tempted her and took her to a lodge in Whitefield. Raghavendra allegedly raped her along with his two friends Sagar (22) and Manu Raj (32). The lodge owner, Manoranjan Pandit (52), later joined Raghavendra and his gang and allegedly raped her. While doing the investigation, the police got news that the girl was in a lodge. The police raided the lodge and rescued the girl from one of the rooms on November 4. As per the police, anyone having sex with a minor girl, even if it is unanimous, accounts to rape and staying with her amounts to confinement.
