The Khiladi Kumar shared his first look from the film ‘Kesari’, which is based on the Battle of Sargarhi, on Friday morning. The 50-year-old actor excels the look of a Sikh warrior in the morning. The film ‘Kesari’ is based on the Battle of Sargarhi, which happened in 1897 between British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzai tribesmen in North-West Frontier Province (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan).
“Feeling nothing but immense pride and gratitude while sharing this. Beginning my 2018 with #KESARI, my most ambitious film and a lot of passion. Need your best wishes as always @dharmamovies @iAmAzure @SinghAnurag79,” Kumar took to Twitter to share the first look. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film will release on Holi 2019. There are two other Hindi films as well, which are working on the same subject. The Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is also working on the same subject, which is named as ‘Battle of Saragarhi’. This film is being directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and the first look of it was released last year.
While talking about the film, Hooda had said, “There have been a lot of ups and downs. But that’s a part of filmmaking. The theme of the film is ‘Soora so pahchaniye, je lade deen ke het, Purja-purja kat mare, kabhu na chhade khet’ (Only he is brave who fights for the cause of the poor. He may be cut into pieces and may be killed, but he should not leave the field).” Randeep Hooda will be seen playing the role of Havildar Ishar Singh in the film.
