Actor Akshay Kumar not worried about probable clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat

There are strong rumors surfing that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat may hit the screens on the same day with Akshay Kumar’s Padman. However, Kumar seems positive and hopes that both the movies do well in the holiday weekend. Due to the controversy, Bhansali’s Padmavat missed its December 1 release date to which finally has been given a green signal for the release and as per ongoing gossips, the producers are planning to release the film on January 25 and to clash with R Balki-directed “Padman”.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recently gave U/A certification to the film along with some modifications and suggested to change the title from “Padmavati” to “Padmavat”. When Akshay was asked about the possibility of Bhansali’s film with his Padman, he said that “It is not about competition, it is a very big day, a big week, so all the films can come. Both the films can release on that day”. “Every film has the right to release whenever they (makers) want, and I am happy for them,” Kumar told reporters. However, Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions are still to announce the release date of the “Padmavat”.

Akshay’s co-star in Padman Sonam Kapoor said that she would wait for an official announcement from the team of “Padmavat”. “It is not announced officially, isn’t it? If it is, it is good. There is a need for competition when it comes to films and (it is) high time that the film releases. Good cinema is good cinema, I don’t believe in competition. And honestly, I am just happy that the film is releasing, more than anything else, and I hope the film does well. I am pretty sure that there is no official statement from the production house of the film (Padmavati) release,” Sonam said. Akshay and Sonam were busy last night in promoting their film on Zee Marathi’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Ghe Panga Kar Danga.
