Indian Army soldier and two civilians killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistan

The officials told that an Army jawan and two civilians were killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistan for the third repeated day on Saturday in Poonch and Jammu districts. A BSF officer told PTI that Pakistani Rangers attacked villages ahead of the International Border from Chenab river (Akhnoor) to RS Pura all over the night in heavy uncalled-for shelling and firing.

He added that firing and shelling were still happening when the reports last came in the morning. Pakistan was attacking civilian villages to cause death and damage and the BSF was giving them an apt reply, the officer said. A police official said that the Pakistani Rangers sustained to fire and launch shells along the IB in Arnia, Ramgarh, Samba and Hiranagar sectors till 5 am. The official added that two people were wounded in Kanachak sector of Akhnoor, and a girl sustained minor splinter injuries. The official said that between 8,000 to 9,000 people living along the IB migrated to safer places and most of them were living with their relatives.

He added that more than 1,000 people are housed in camps in R S Pura, Samba and Kathua areas. The officials said that educational institutes have been closed for next three days along the IB and the LoC in Jammu region by authorities due to the increased tension along the Indo-Pak border. The officials added that two security forces jawans and as many civilians were killed and 35 others injured in mortar shelling by the Pakistani troops on civilian areas and BoPs along the International Border and the LoC in the four districts yesterday.
