Just a night before the release of magnum opus film ‘Padmaavat’, the actor Ranveer Singh shared an emotional message on his social media page. After seeing the film at the special screening in Mumbai, the ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ actor said, “I am so proud of my team. Team Padmaavat for the win!”
The actor, who plays Alauddin Khilji in ‘Padmaavat, took his social media handles to express his satisfaction and said, “I am relieved and happy with the reactions to my performance.” Later, thanking filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the 32-year-old actor said that “Sanjay Sir has given me a gift of a character that I will forever be indebted to him for in my role, more than I already am. You have shaped me into the artist that I am, Sir. I love you”. “And today on the eve of the release of our beloved film, I wish you all a Happy Republic Day in advance and invite you all to the cinema halls. I am proud to be part of a film that our whole country can be proud of. Jai Hind,” added Ranveer Singh.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Magnum Opus film received mixed to great reviews from the critics, but there is a common praise every critic reserved for Ranveer’s portrayal of Alauddin Khilji. The film stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini and Shahid Kapoor as her husband Maharwal Ratan Singh. ‘Padmaavat’ was earlier scheduled for a December release but due to the controversies raised by the Rajput communities nationwide, the film got delayed. Later, the film passed by the censor board by suggesting five modifications in the film.
