The trailer of Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming war film, Sajjan Singh Rangroot, has finally hit online on Tuesday, and it looks like traditional war epic with an avalanche of Sikh pride put it. The Punjabi cinema superstar Diljit Dosanjh will be seen essaying the role of Sajjan Singh, a soldier in the Indian Army’s Lahore Regiment, who is sent along with his battalion of Sikh soldiers to Britain to fight in World War 1.
The trailer shows Indians being discriminated at every turn, made feel inferior and to obey the commands of the British, but they never lose sight of their identity. At one scene in the trailer, a British soldier asks them if they even know how to use rifles, to which Diljit replies, “We don’t need rifles to tear people apart like you apart. We can do that with our bare hands.” This film looks like well-made war film with spectacular large-scale action sequences.
The fields of Punjab play a very important role as the battlefields of Europe. This Diljit’s film is based on a true story and is directed by Pankaj Batra and also stars singer Sunanda Sharma in her film debut. It is all set to release on March 23, on Bhagat Singh’s death anniversary.
