Adding to it, the terrorists fired shots at the hospital when policemen were bringing a Pakistani terrorist Abu Hanzulla alias Naveed Jatt for a medical checkup.

In the course of firing, the Pakistani terrorist managed to escape and terrorists also fled from the point. On the other hand, two policemen were injured in the attack and one policeman is reported to be critical. “One policeman died in firing near Srinagar hospital, Pakistani militant being taken for treatment escaped during the attack,” police told PTI. “Six detainees were being brought from the Central Jail (to the hospital). Out of them, one snatched weapons from the police and fired at the protection party. One policeman is critically injured and another is injured. The prisoner’s name is Naveed. He is probably an outsider,” SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray said to the reporters.

Abu Hanzulla was arrested in Shopian a few months ago, the ANI reported. The security forces have blocked off the area after the attack. As per the sources, the terrorists appeared to be well informed about the area where the hospital is located and directs that it was a well-planned attack. The police said that a police carbine was missing. They added that the area was cordoned off and a search was on for the militant who fled.
