The film ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ starring Starring Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha, and Sunny Nijar has been performing steadily at the box office. The bromance film has collected amazingly impressive 18.25 crore net in the second weekend, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.

The overall collection of the film now stands at as high as around 62 crore net. The bromance film ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ has collected around Rs 25.83 crore in its first weekend. It has collected around Rs 6.25 crore and around Rs 6.50 crore net on its second Saturday and second Sunday respectively. The famous trade analyst Taran Adarsh also tweeted the figures of the film saying, “#SonuKeTituKiSweety continues its DREAM RUN… Proves its supremacy by grossing more than the new releases… Emerges SUPER-HIT… [Week 2] Fri 5.83 cr, Sat 6.55 cr, Sun 7.02 cr. Total: ₹ 65.34 cr. India biz… #SKTKS.” “#SonuKeTituKiSweety biz at a glance… Week 1: ₹ 45.94 cr Weekend 2: ₹ 19.40 cr Total: ₹ 65.34 cr India biz. SUPER-HIT. #SKTKS,” the senior trade analyst tweeted in his another tweet.

The film has been performing really amazing at the box office and it’ll be a big achievement for this size of the film if it crosses all-time collection of Rs 100 crore. The story of the film revolves around friendship and love. ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ is loaded with playful remixed dance numbers like ‘Bom Diggy Diggy’, ‘Dil Chori Sada’ and ‘Chhote Chhote Peg’ which have already become chartbusters. The film has received mixed reviews from the critics.

Aiyaary Box Office: First weekend concludes on the lower note

The Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary had quite a weak first weekend at the box office as there wasn’t much anticipation for the film that it could gain something extraordinary on Saturday and Sunday. All this Sidharth Malhotra starrer film needed was really a big jump at the box office but nothing special happened for it. Its first weekend collections were as low as 13 crores.

It is not good news for the film ‘Aiyaary’ as it’s an expensive film and the first weekend matters a lot to cover huge making cost for any film. The film’s collections in the first weekend can be evaluated by the fact that the collections are way lesser than similar genre film, Naam Shabana. ‘Naam Shabana’ was also a Neeraj Pandey production film and was made at a much lesser cost. Yet, it had collected 18.76Cr over the weekend (also advantaged by the star presence of Akshay Kumar). However, the word of mouth was better for the film and that’s why it helped it in to reach the respectable total lifetime of 37.25 Crores. In case of Aiyaary, it seems to be quite a tough task for the film to touch that.

Aiyaary is most probable to do better business than Sidharth Malhotra’s A Gentleman (20.7 crores) but it has to be witnessed if it manages to beat his Ittefaq (30 crores) and Baar Baar Dekho (32 crores). This film deserves better numbers as the overall content is much better than what some of the reviews may suggest.

Aamir’s Secret Superstar continues its dream run at Chinese box office, crosses Rs 750 Cr mark

Aamir Khan’s love affair with Chinese box office is no more a secret for anyone. The film ‘Secret Superstar’ is breaking records in China and shocking the whole world with its humongous numbers at the box office. The Khan’s film has already crossed the 750-crore mark in the country.

The trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted the film’s business figures and we can just feel proud of it. “#SecretSuperstar is truly a BLOCKBUSTER of EPIC PROPORTIONS in China… Crosses ₹ 750 cr mark in 4 weeks… Still going STRONG… Total till 15 Feb 2018: $ 117.61 mn [₹ 750.69 cr],” Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. Talking about Secret Superstar, it is not Aamir Khan’s first film to break records in China. His 3 Idiots and PK had also enjoyed a good run at the Chinese box office. But Khan’s Dangal changed the whole game for the Indian cinema as it took the collections to a different level and earned more than 1500 crore in China. Interestingly, it became one of the top five highest-grossing non-Hollywood films in China.

Aamir’s Secret Superstar opened to mostly positive reviews in India but failed to make an extraordinary mark at the box office as it had a stiff competition with Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again. Talking about the next India’s big release in China, Salman Khan’s 2015 hit Bajrangi Bhaijaan will release on 8,000 screens on March 2 in the country. It’s the right time for Indian cinema to start focusing on the overseas market with more seriousness.

PadMan box office collection: Akshay’s film crosses Rs 40 Cr at the box office

Akshay Kumar’s PadMan, directed by R Balki, continues to make some good numbers at the box office. The film revolves around menstrual health and wants for cheaper and accessible sanitary napkin. It was managed to earn a total of Rs 40.05 Cr at the box office by the end of its first weekend.

The film had collected Rs 10.26 Cr on its opening day and paced up on Saturday with a growth of almost 35% making its second-day collection – Rs 13.68 Cr. The film witnessed a big jump on Sunday by collecting Rs 16.11 Cr. It will be interesting to witness how the Kumar’s film performs in the weekdays and stays strong or not. PadMan will have to face competition as Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary will release by next week, which might slow down the collections of the Akshay’s film.

The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta wrote in her review of PadMan that “Akshay Kumar is now consistently green-lighting socially-relevant films, and that is fine and laudable (Pad Man is produced by his wife Twinkle Khanna, a witty commentator on social mores). His 2017 Toilet: Ek Prem Katha started conversations around having toilets within the house. I liked both what it was trying to say and how it was doing so: it was done with a degree of flair.”

Here are the box office figures of PadMan:

Friday: 10.26 Cr

Saturday: 13.68 Cr

Sunday: 16.11 Cr

Total: 40.05 Cr

Padmaavat box office collection: Bhansali’s historical drama crosses 200 crore mark

After facing so many hurdles before the release, Padmaavat is finally roaring at the box office. The film has crossed the major milestone and that too in really rapid time. Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmaavat’ not only joined the 200 crore mark in a moment, but it also has managed to exceed the lifetime total of major biggies like Golmaal Again (205.70 crores), Happy New year (205 crores) and 3 Idiots (202.50 crores).

Strongly continuing at 212.50 crores (following Sunday collections of 20 crores), Padmaavat has crossed Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’s lifetime of 210 crores as well. Talking about the next box office record that this historical drama is expected to break is of Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express (227 crores) and it would be easily crossed by the end of the second week. Following Chennai Express, Padmaavat would be in the line to break the record of Salman Khan’s Kick (232 crores). It would also bring the film into Top-10 grossers of all times (ever since the beginning of 100 crore club).

Interestingly, for Deepika Padukone, ‘Padmaavat’ is now her third 200 crores mark film after Chennai Express and Happy New Year. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, have also found an entry into this top club for the first time ever. This film, mainly, has benefitted to Shahid Kapoor as personal best of 66 crores (R….Rajkumar) has skyrocketed to 200 crores+ with Padmaavat. Bhansali’s Padmaavat is all set to break many records in the coming days.

Padmaavat box office collection: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama close to touch Rs 150 Cr mark

After witnessing a series of controversies for over a year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat has finally released on January 25, 2018, storming now at the box office. The film starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh has been performing very well at the box office and breaking some box office records on the domestic and international since its release.

The Bhansali’s historical drama has stayed rock steady on the seventh day of its release and has earned Rs 12.25 crore, according to a recent report on Boxofficeindia.com. The collection of Padmaavat stands at high Rs 149 crore and is gearing up towards the 200 crore mark now. Despite the fact that the film had not released in some states, it still is making wonders at the Indian box office. Padmaavat is based on 16th Century poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s poem. It got delayed due to the protests by various Rajput groups, including the Karni Sena, alleging that it distorts historical facts, which was frequently denied by filmmaker Bhansali.

While commenting on the ‘Padmaavat’, Shahid, who portrayed the role of Maharaja Ratan Singh in the film said, “We missed out on a lot of things. We had to make lots of sacrifices. We had to learn to keep a lot of emotions in our hearts for one-and-a-half years in check. We had to be politically correct. The film had to go through a lot. But, today we feel vindicated.”
