A school principal allegedly raped a 16-year-old student on the alleged reason of helping her pass her class X board exams. The principal made a false student write her physical education paper on Tuesday while he raped the student in a nearby house. He is also the owner of the school on the peripheries of Gohana town in Sonipat.
On Tuesday night, police officials booked the principal and two women under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Posco) Act. The women were booked for criminal conspiracy as the rape happened in their house. All three accused are absconding since Tuesday night. On the complaint of girl’s father, a case has been registered. The father, however, was ready to pay Rs 10,000 to the principal as part of the deal to help his daughter pass the exams. “On March 8, the principal called me and my daughter to a school on the outskirts of Gohana. The principal then asked me to leave my daughter at his relative’s place. He said another girl would write my daughter’s exam,” the survivor’s father told the police.
After the exam was over, the man was directed to pick up his daughter. The girl told him when he returned to the house where he had left his daughter that the principal had raped her in involvement with the two women. The father added that while he was talking to his daughter, the accused and the two women coped to flee from the spot. “Soon after recording the statement of the survivor, we registered a case and a team of counsellors was asked to help the girl,” Deswal added.
On Thursday, a 43-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly tried to forcibly kiss a woman commuter in Navi Mumbai by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), said media reports. According to CNN-News18, the identified accused Naresh Joshi molested the woman while she was waiting to board a local train to Ghansoli for work.
“We have registered a case under IPC section 354 (A) (sexual harassment) and are investigating the matter,” inspector Krishna Kadam at Vashi was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror. The whole incident had been captured on CCTV camera footage, which was being monitored by an RPF team. After the team witness the accused suspiciously hanging around the station premises after molesting the woman, constables were rushed to the spot. The police next approached the victim and based on her directions traced the suspect to a subway, the Firstpost reported the Mumbai Mirror report.
A 23-year-old man, in a similar incident in January, was arrested for abusing and forcibly kissing his ex-girlfriend in public on Carter road in Mumbai, Hindustan Times had reported. The woman had alleged that when she was with her friends on Carter road, the accused blocked her path and forcibly kissed her. An 18-year-old girl was allegedly molested in another incident in the same month on a Mumbai-bound express train. The victim had tweeted to police while she was traveling in the Konark Express about her “harassment by an unidentified molester”.
On Tuesday, terrorists attacked a hospital in Srinagar and freed a Pakistani terrorist. According to the reports, the terrorists fired shots at the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital in Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir, and then fled from the spot. Adding to it, the terrorists fired shots at the hospital when policemen were bringing a Pakistani terrorist Abu Hanzulla alias Naveed Jatt for a medical checkup.
In the course of firing, the Pakistani terrorist managed to escape and terrorists also fled from the point. On the other hand, two policemen were injured in the attack and one policeman is reported to be critical. “One policeman died in firing near Srinagar hospital, Pakistani militant being taken for treatment escaped during the attack,” police told PTI. “Six detainees were being brought from the Central Jail (to the hospital). Out of them, one snatched weapons from the police and fired at the protection party. One policeman is critically injured and another is injured. The prisoner’s name is Naveed. He is probably an outsider,” SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray said to the reporters.
Abu Hanzulla was arrested in Shopian a few months ago, the ANI reported. The security forces have blocked off the area after the attack. As per the sources, the terrorists appeared to be well informed about the area where the hospital is located and directs that it was a well-planned attack. The police said that a police carbine was missing. They added that the area was cordoned off and a search was on for the militant who fled.
A 5-year-old was kidnapped from a school van in east Delhi last month by armed men was saved by a police team that killed a suspect in a gunfight in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on Tuesday, the officials said. The kidnappers started firing on the policemen during the rescue operation, a senior Delhi Police official said.
“Two kidnappers named Pankaj and Ravi were injured in retaliatory firing by the police…While Ravi succumbed to his injuries, Pankaj had to be admitted to GTB hospital. Nitin – the third kidnapper – has been arrested,” the official said. The kidnappers had rented a flat in Ghaziabad where they hid the boy, another official said. The police arrested a man providing information to them and learned about the hideout. Police planted a ploy near Loni border but Ravi opened fire when he spotted the police. One of the policemen was also hit by a bullet. He was protected because of a bulletproof jacket he was wearing.
The kidnapped class 1 student was handed over to his parents. “We got to know around 1 am that our child has been found…The doctor said that he needed rest,” his grandfather said. On January 25, the boy was kidnapped by two masked men on a motorcycle when he was going to school with his sister around 7:30 am from Shahdara. The kidnappers got on the school bus and snatched him from among 20 children following firing the school van driver in the leg. As soon as the kidnappers left, a woman attendant inside the school van informed school authorities and they contacted the Delhi police. The kidnappers, on the other hand, demanded a ransom of Rs 70 lakh from the family.
The news agency PTI reported that a class 12 student allegedly killed his school principal by firing four shots with a .32 bore gun in Haryana’s Yamunanagar on Saturday. The police said, “The accused student fired four shots at Principal Ritu Chhabra, who was in her office, with a .32 bore gun and critically injured her.”
The police sources said that the student was frustrated over being rusticated from the school. A senior police officer said that “School staff, students, and teachers caught the student while he was trying to escape and handed him over to police”. The PTI quoted Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Desh Raj as saying that “The principal succumbed to her injuries in the hospital”. The police added that the boy’s father is a financier and the pistol used for the crime belonged to the father and is a licensed one. They also added that the initial investigations suggest that the boy was escorted by at least one of his friends. The event took place between 11:30 am 12 noon and the reason behind the murder was still to be confirmed, the police said.
In Pune, an eight-year-old girl was gang-raped by one 19-year-old boy and five minors. The incident came to highlight when the girl revealed to her mother that she was suffering from pain in her lower stomach following which the parents took her to a nearby hospital. The doctor informed the girl’s father that she was raped following conducting a medical examination.
Following this, the girl was asked about it and she took the name of six boys. The doctor later directed the parents to take the matter to the nearest police station. To file an FIR, the parents went to Kondhwa police station. All the six boys between the age of 12 and 19 were arrested following a female cop wrote the report. The accused were of the same locality and attended the same school as the victim. The girl also confessed that the attackers would give her chocolate and take her to the terrace of the building she lives in. Later, they used to rape her there. As per the police, the accused were raping the eight-year-old since August 2017.
On Tuesday night, the Naxals attacked the Masudan railway station in Bihar and incinerated the station property. As per ANI, the Naxals have also abducted two railway officials of which one was the assistant station master. The abducted assistant station master called up Maldah DRM saying Naxals have threatened to kill him if trains carry on functioning on Masudan track.
All the passengers were advised to take other alternates as a safety measure. No casualties have been reported as of now. On the other hand, no official statement from the railway authorities has been issued concerning the issue. The CPRO Eastern Railway Rajesh Kumar also enlightened that rail services have been still at Kiul-Jamalpur-Bhagalpur section of Malda Division. It is not the first time such incident took place in the state. Prior this year, a group of 20 Naxals had allegedly hijacked a train in Lakhisarai district of the state on August 3. Later, the Naxals had interrupted rail services on two lines following abducting two cabin men in the district as part of their week-long protest noted as ‘Shahadat Saptah’.
