A Couple Aged Around 20 Found Dead in OYO Hotel Room

A young couple was found dead on Friday in a branch of Oyo (Oyo) room in Delhi’s Dwarka Sector-17. Both the boy and the girl, hanged themselves to the fan, said the police. They checked into the hotel on Thursday and were around 20 year old.

A day after the couple was found dead in hotel room; police is yet to discover the reason for the suicide.

Even the parents are clueless about why their children hanged themselves to death. “We had no idea they were friends. We do not know why they took their lives,” told the police after discovering about the death of their children.

The young girl, who had recently turned 18 was a first year medical student while the boy, aged 17 was preparing for his IIT entrance examination. The two had booked the room using the OYO app on Thursday.

While investigating into the matter Police found that, the boy on Thursday left his home and told his parents that he is going for tuition and will stay at his friend’s house.

Earlier the police suspected that couple might have committed suicide because of the restrictions of their parents on their relationship but now as the Police further investigated they came to know that the boy has never talked about marrying this girl or about being in relationship with this girl with his parents. The parents also informed the police that, “he was very ambitious and wished to crack the IIT and was always engrossed in his books,” a police officer said.

The police officer said that, “now when the parents are clueless about the suicide, they will now ask their friends about the suicide, it is might possible that their friends know something about their relationship and other problems.” The officer also added that, “they will also go through their mobile call logs and chats.”

The two used the hotel bed sheets to hang themselves. While the girl’s father is a CRPF radio operator, the boy’s father runs a grocery store.
