The highly awaited film of 2017 starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif is all set to hit big screens on December 22. The good news for the film is that its advance booking hints a big opening for Salman’s film. Its booking started since Sunday and the movie lovers come out in huge numbers to book tickets. Many theatres in Delhi witnessed huge rush outside cinema halls as tickets for the first-day show sold rapidly.
The advance booking for any film indicates the potential and buzz of the film. Talking about the advance booking of Salman’s Tiger Zinda Hai, it may lead to an extraordinary start for the film. As its advance booking started on a positive note, it would probably gain momentum on Wednesday and Thursday which is commonly famous for advance bookings period. As it is Salman Khan’s film, the expectations from the ‘Dabangg’ star is also huge. The target for Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai would be to come among top five films of this year. Several big films like Tubelight and Raees failed to perform as per expectations and touch the top five.
Tiger Zinda Hai is expected to release on 4,000 screens all over India. The trade analyst Taran Adarsh showed confidence in the film and added that well begun is half done in terms of advance bookings. The film is expected to collect 30-32 crore on day one. Tiger Zinda Hai is budgeted at Rs 175 crore. The film is expected to touch 100 crores in just three days. This year for Indian films wasn’t much good as many big star films failed to perform well at the box office. Salman’s film is the last hope for this year to make some moolah at the box office.
The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Monday that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s controversial flick ‘Padmavati’ will not be allowed to release in the state as it misrepresented history. After listening to several organizations belonging to Rajput community who met him at his official residence and asked for a movie ban, the chief minister came to the conclusion that the film will not be released in Madhya Pradesh.
“We have been reading about the queen’s sacrifice from childhood. Distortion of history will not be tolerated,” the chief minister said. He further added that the film won’t be released until the objectionable scenes are removed he will not allow the film to be released across the state. Earlier to it, the UP government had told I&B Ministry that the film may have an “adverse effect” on law and order in UP. The Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi, at the same time, had also criticized very harshly the makers for letting the film to be screened for several media channels before getting a certificate from the board. The Padmavati row is getting uglier day by day and Bhansali’s film has also been postponed for the same reason.
The trailer of much-awaited Bhansali’s Padmavati is out and it is just so majestic that you just can’t out this epic saga, which is all set to release on December 1. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Padmavati’, is unarguably one of the most awaited movies of this year. We will witness Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji in this epic saga. Looking at the promo, it looks like that ‘Padmavati’ is going to be the biggest film of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The film’s promo shows the romantic connection between Shahid’s and Deepika’s character. But it is Ranveer who took all the limelight with his grey shade character in the trailer. From his threatening eyes to his villainous looks, Ranveer Singh just amazed us in the promo of this epic saga. It looks like he left no stone in clothing into the skin of Alauddin Khilji’s character. Without even a single dialogue in the promo, Ranveer nailed it with his looks and mannerism. Shahid Kapoor talks about the power of Rajput and says in the trailer, “Chinta ko talwar ki nok pe rakhe, wo Rajput. Ret ki naav lekar samandar se shart lagae, wo Rajput. Aur jiska sir kate fir bhi dushman se ladta rahe, wo Rajput.” While Deepika talks about the power of “Rajputi Kangan” being equal to the Rajputi sword.
This film is based on mythology that 14th-century ruler Alauddin Khilji who fell in love with Padmini, the queen of Chittor. This is the third time Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are collaborating Sanjay Leela Bhansali for a film after Goliyon Ki Rasleela, Ram Leela, and Bajirao Mastani. It is the first time Shahid Kapoor is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
After many speculations of the second lead actor for the Race 3, it looks like that the makers finally found their star for the second lead. Names of Siddharth Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapur were in the talks, but makers have approached Emraan Hashmi now for the second lead in Race 3. Considering 2017 not a good year for Bollywood films at the box office, Hashmi’s Baadshaho had performed exceptionally well at the box office.
The 38-year-old actor has starred worked in past with Ajay Devgn in Once Upon Time in Mumbai and Baadshaho and has no issues in working with a big star. According to the early reports, the actor has been signed to play the second lead and would be seen opposite Daisy Shah in the film. “Emraan has been cast as the other hero in Race 3. After talks with Sid and Adi didn’t work out, the makers approached him and he has agreed to do the film. He will be romancing Daisy Shah in the film,” a source informed DNA. These developments are yet to be confirmed by the makers officially, so what’s confirmed is that Jacqueline Fernandez will be starring opposite Salman Khan. Race 3 is expected to go on floors by this month.
It was a proud moment for the whole nation when the news came that Rajkummar Rao’s Newton being officially elected for the Oscars, but it seems like that Priyanka Chopra and her mother Madhu Chopra aren’t much happy with this news. According to a report in DNA, the 35-year-old actress had high hopes for their award-winning film ‘Ventilator’ would be chosen for the Oscars 2018. It also received a standing ovation at the New York Film Festival.
“I told her not to worry, assuring her that only the best film would make it. We were a bit disappointed when we learned about the verdict, the next day,” the director of Ventilator, Rajesh Mapuskar told DNA. He also said about Priyanka that “I guess, Priyanka must be even more disappointed because she was always ambitious about the film. Had it been selected, she would have ensured that it was the most-talked-about film in the run to the Oscars, especially since she is already an established name there. The ventilator was always the favourite baby of their banner”. He also talked about the fact that how much Priyanka’s mom Madhu Chopra was happy and she called him up before the result was announced.
It was among the 26 entries in the race to the Oscars 2018 for the category of Best Foreign Film.
It has been a great year for the ace B-Town actor Rajkummar Rao as first his ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ achieved great success and now his recent release ‘Newton’ has been elected as the official entry for Oscars this year. The news of the official entry of Rao’s Newton came as a big surprise as this year has not been good for the Indian cinema. All we can say is that the Indian audiences are only looking for good content now.
News about the Rao’s Newton is surfing the net like a flood, but there’s one film from which we all had huge expectations of becoming India’s official entry for the Oscars and that’s Prabhas’ Baahubali 2. India’s highest grossing film at home, Baahubali 2, was also being expected by the people for the official entry for Oscars this year, but Rao’s Newton won this race. The magnum opus film was undeniably in the race but the jury decided to go with Newton. “About 26 entries come from different languages. 12 from Hindi, 5 from Marathi, 5 from Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali. One film from Tamil comes to entry. Bahubali 2 in Telugu comes to Satakarni. We have seen movies of all languages till 16th of this month. After looking at them, ‘Newton’ was selected considering all angles,” a jury member spoke to the media.
There is no doubt in the fact that Baahubali 2 made Indian Cinema proud because of its overwhelming box office collections and magnum opus experience, but Oscar looks more for the content and that’s why Newton became the first choice. However, Newton still has a long way to go as it has to compete with other selected foreign films to enter into the top 5 nominees at the Oscars awards for the Best Foreign Language category. Mother India, Salaam Bombay, and Lagaan were the only three India films that have managed to do that in the past.
“It’s a happy shocker. We were hardly expecting this,” begins Rao, clearly elated with the honor that has been bestowed upon his satire. The timing is the cherry on top — the announcement coincided with the film’s release yesterday. We made a film against all adversities, on a tight budget. But, it was an honest film. I am glad that the film is being appreciated by all and even after its commercial release, we’ve only had compliments coming our way,” said Rajkummar Rao while speaking to the Mid-Day. Rao’s Newton has been directed by Amit Masurkar and it’s been produced by Drishyam Films and Colour Yellow Productions. Pankaj Tripathy, Anjali Patil, Raghubir Yadav and Sanjay Mishra were also seen in the film as in their supporting roles.
CBFC latest demand for cuts film, has created a tension for the producers, as the censor board has asked the film makers of Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Babumoshai Bandookbaaz to create forty eight snips. The movie’s producer Kiran Shroff says the CBFC members argued that the cuts area unit required as even youngsters watch films for that this is required.
Shroff with the actors and director of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz on Wednesday to talk to the media. She said, “They (CBFC members) had a 1 hour of debate, we have a tendency to were terribly restless.
We have a tendency to did expect a barrage of objections which might be raised, its a fine film with A certification, We asked, ‘Why such a big amount of cuts after as we are getting A (certificate) anyway?’.”
“They aforesaid as a result said children watch this type of associate degree movie. The reasoning created no sense. It’s a silly argument”. Shroff additionally claimed the members of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) humiliated her.
“You’ll be able to make a case for why such objectionable words and scenes area unit there within the film, a woman questioned ME, ‘How may you create a movie like this despite being a girl yourself?’ A gentleman aforesaid, ‘How will she be a girl as she is sporting a pant and shirt?’, after these question I got shocked.”
Asked regarding their next move, Shroff aforesaid, “We patterned that we are able to go straight to the court (Film Certification legal proceeding Tribunal), we have a tendency to area unit hopeful and positive they’ll see the film the manner we’ve created it.”
The forged and crew had a group discussion conducted by Indian Film & tv Directors’ Association, where a number of the members like movie maker Sudhir Mishra, Ashoke Pandit, Alankrita Shrivastava, Vikramaditya Motwane and Rahul Dholakia among others were present.
Pandit, the IFTDA President, said, “IFTDA condemns all the cuts given to the film. we have a tendency to condemn the act wherever 2 members of the committee misbehaved with a woman, we request the members and the Broadcasting Ministry to sack them with immediate impact.
Also, Shyam Benegal Committee report ought to be enforced shortly in order that we have a tendency to stop this and every one people have clarity.” Babumoshai Bandookbaaz may be a rustic drama, that Nawazuddin himself claims to be his boldest picture ever.
