Shahrukh Khan gives warm wishes to the newly-appointed KKR captain Dinesh Karthik

The Shahrukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is all set for a new start under the lead of newly-appointed captain Dinesh Karthik for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 52-year-old actor welcomed the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman on Monday on his appointment.

The KKR had to find a new captain for the team following the exit of Gautam Gambhir ahead of IPL 2018 auction. In the time of Gautam’s captaincy, KKR had won IPL titles twice in the past, but the former Indian cricket team opener was not retained by the KKR heads. Dinesh Karthik, who is a prominent run-making machine in domestic T20 tournaments, has now been given the extra responsibility of taking KKR ahead in his first season with the KKR. As all the teams are geared up for the tournament starting on April 7, KKR co-owner Shahrukh Khan welcomed the newly-appointed KKR captain Karthik through a tweet.

“As we stand poised for a new season of KKR we welcome @DineshKarthik as our Captain. Like our Captains over the yrs we know u will also lead us by boosting the self esteem & dignity of all of us,” the 52-year-old actor tweeted. Commenting on his appointment, Karthik said he hopes to match India captain Virat Kohli by leading from the front. “Virat Kohli leads from the front. He sets an example with his own performances. That is something I would like to do as well — lead by an example rather than by too many words,” said Karthik. He added that though he may seem aggressive, but it is a trait that defines him.

“By nature, I am not that aggressive outwardly. But from inside, I am very aggressive. I like to do small things on the field that really matter — like looking into the eyes of your rivals. I love to be there in tough situations and face the heat. I am not going to stop players who want to express their aggression on the field, although I would try to control them to ensure they don’t get fined,” Karthik added.

IPL 2018: Chennai Super Kings squad analysis, Dhoni’s team keeps balance, invests in mature players

As the Chennai Super Kings has returned to the Indian Premier League, the Dhoni’s team has made sure to retain a core set of the team for the upcoming edition. Before the auction, they had retained MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravinder Jadeja, whereas they kept Dwayne Bravo in the set-up by using the Right to Match card. Here’s an analysis at the squad of CSK for the 2018 edition.

Strength: The biggest strength for Chennai Super Kings is that it has the balance side for the upcoming IPL edition. They have experienced players like MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Ravindra Jadeja and all these players are well-experienced to the shortest format of cricket. CSK lose R Ashwin to Kings XI Punjab but they got Harbhajan Singh as his replacement in the team. Singh played for Mumbai Indians for last ten seasons and had been a valuable player for the team. Harbhajan’s experience is going to help CSK in every manner.

Weakness: CSK could have bought an extra pace bowler instead of going for a wicket-keeper batsman like Sam Billings. As Dhoni will be in the team and the limitation of playing just four overseas players, it seems Billings might not get a chance to be in the team. The only place where CSK lacks is in pace department but going by the past CSK trends, they are famous to field more spinners.

Chennai Super Kings: MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Faf du Plessis, Harbhajan Singh, Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson, Kedar Jadhav, Ambati Rayudu, Imran Tahir, Karn Sharma, Shardul Thakur, N Jagadeesan, Santner, Deepak Chahar, KM Asif, Kanishk Seth, Ngidi, Dhruv Shorey, M Vijay, Billings, Mark Wood, Kshitiz Sharma, Monu Kumar, Chaitanya Bishnoi

IPL KKR Wins Over GL : Chris Lynn and Gautam Gambhir Played Terrific

Yesterday in Rajkot, Chris Lynn and Gautam Gambhir together exhibit their splendid supremacy and also showed their class as they made a mockery of the Gujarat Lions challenge, as KKR i.e. Kolkata Knight Riders got their IPL 10 campaign off with an outstanding 10 wicket win. There was not anything that the home bowlers had in terms of confrontation as KKR casing GL’s i.e. 183/4 in 20 overs, dashed to 184 for no loss in 14.5 overs.

propped up by the existence of their team holder Shahrukh Khan, advising to turn the tables back adjacent to a team they had lost twice to previous season, the Kolkata Knight Riders got to the nearly all storming start to the game so far with a 10-wicket win over Gujarat Lions at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium here yesterday.

despite the fact that Gautam Gambhir mainly effort the gaps in the GL field, Queenslander Lynn was basically going for the aerial course as he stricken his first IPL half-century, chiefly with the aid of the 8 sixes he sent to all parts of the stadium. Gambhir showed his ability with 12 boundaries as the GL bowlers entirely vanished the plot. He was in transcendent form and was as smooth as any batsman who has been on the show so far in the 10th edition of the tournament.

The GL innings was made chiefly of their innings with skipper Suresh Riana i.e. 68 not out and Dinesh Karthik i.e. 47 stitching mutually score and a very average one. GL also got several runs from Brendon McCullum i.e. 35. But Jasson Roy and Aaron Finch could not profit from on their starts. KKR rewarded profoundly for the catches they dropped typically one of Raina which permissible the hosts to pile up the total they ultimately did. Young bowler Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the KKR bowlers’ numbers of 2/25.

Subsequent to winning the toss and posing Gujarat Lions into bat skipper Gambhir and the KKR camp might have been concerned a lot as Lions skipper Suresh Raina, Dinesh Kartik, and Brendon McCullam assisted the hosts to mount up 183. on the other hand what seemed a planned total soon finished up looking like an underneath par one as Lynn and Gambhir toyed with the Gujarat Lions bowling placing on 73 runs in the 6 power packed overs. The twosome sustained the massacre as they shattered records at will and contested to their individual half centuries. At the same time as Gambhir licked his innings fine with twelve boundaries to lead from the facade, Lynn’s thug control and clean hitting took to pieces every single plan Raina might have had in his intellect.

This was merely the third time in 87 T20s that Lynn unlocked the innings and the Australian did not dissatisfy. Despite the fact that he tormented approximately every bowler he faced, he had kept his best for Dwayne Smith who he cracked for 23 runs in the seventh over to attain his half century in just 19 balls. He was plunged twice in the 15th over off succeeding deliveries but the destiny of the match was preserved by then. Lynn hit 8 sixes and 6 boundaries in his 41 ball bang. This was the maximum overall chased completed in T20 cricket with a side having all wickets in hand. This was KKR’s uppermost stand for any wicket in the IPL i.e. Indian Premier League.

Previously Gujarat Lions traveled on the brilliance of Captain Suresh Raina as they put up 183/4 in their chase for a third straight win over the Knights. There was a boundary in every over till the 9th previous to chairman bowler Kuldeep Yadav supervised to get rid of McCullum but the damage was before now done by then.

KKK i.e. Kolkata Knight riders are one of the lineups which participates in the Indian premier League and it symbolizes the city of Kolkata, West Bengal. This is one of the consistent teams of IPL and from the very preliminary year i.e. from 2008 till date KKR holds a very steady place in a crazy game of cricket. It is measured as the most triumphant team of IPL so far. The holder of this team comes from the cinema industry of India. Bollywood celebs Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta are the holders of KKR. KKR has numerous supporters because of their fantastic possibly to bend a match just about thus for perpetuity overcoming their challenges. In VIVO IPL 10 the team has an admirable captain Gautam Gambhir who has led the squad from the front. He has been in the peak scorer list for previous few seasons and has shown his leadership qualities. Kolkata Knight Riders have a massive fan hold up as the team is connected to Bollywood industry stars and yet the side performs sound in the league.

Eight Reasons Why IPL Opening 8 Ceremonies Was Waste Of Time

10th season of Indian premier league is about to begin and soon we see the opening ceremony of IPL.  This opening ceremony is going to be the eight opening ceremonies spread across the 10 days tournament. There are so many weird things that no one can explain the purpose of it. But they say you can have so much of good things here. To celebrate Eight opening ceremony, here are the eight reasons that why it is just a waste of time everyone’s time.

  1. Shane Watson singing

The IPL opening ceremony gives Shane Watson the opportunity to sing in this celebration because he loves to get the guitar. But, nobody wants this to happen. He is a very good cricketer who has entertained us with his bowling, batting and ability to get out LBW. But on another side he is a singer at best and IPL opening ceremonies just give him an excuse to underwhelm us.

2. Awkward celebrity moments

Cricket is not so cool but we always try to pretend that it is cool, actually,  it is a game where load of men hitting a ball with a stick. We are pretty good at pretending that the sport with love is brilliant, and most of the time we are successful. But in actual when real cool people turn up at the IPL opening ceremony it exposes the sport for what it is. Remembering the moment in 2012 when katy Perry was performing She got Doug Bollinger to show her how to bat and the Aussie paceman looked really  awkward even more than a teenager who is asking someone out there of the league for school dance.

3. Wooden presenting

The presenting at IPL’s opening ceremony is more flinchy even than as your parents meeting a new girlfriend for the first time. In fact, sometimes when it is so bad you would be less embarrassed, if the ceremony only involved a slideshow of your least favourite childhood photographs. However the most egregious moment was happened in 2015 when Saif Ali Khan  made mess of his job with some news agencies and commented that he fumbled and forget the lines and failed to contribute something unique in opening ceremony.

4. Manufactured excitement

The fact is that the job of those who are running the show is to try make some idea of singing dancing sound excitement for the crowd of people who want to watch cricket and T20 has got brilliant and massive success since 2003 , when it was first played in England. Everyone find it cool but We are to made to wait for the game for 90 minutes while some Bollywood actors chat for no reason.

5. Motor bike accidents

In 2015 Shahid kapoor fell off a motorbike and tripped over his own feet while performing at the opening ceremony, at that time he sang out of tune. But it was still great against peoples interest.

6. Cricketers Dance

It is obvious that every year there is a chance that some cricketer  will do some dance performance. It is a exceptionally really a bad idea of Dwayne Bravo’s Dance performance. In performance champions only move their arms back and forth. It could be little bit embarrassing to perform in front of live audience and TV audience.  IPL opening ceremony doesn’t mean dancing by cricketers.

7. Memorable failure

The biggest problem with IPL opening ceremony is that no one can remember everything in one goes. Shane Watson singing performance, Shahid kapoor motorbike accident really presents a embarrassing moments and all these just set up a failure.

8. Forgettable success

Everyone knows if you do it in right manner no one remember but if it is little wrong it could be a unforgettable moment. No one talks about when Chris Brown performs well. All of that is lost in boring and mash up of speeches. Peoples forget when you succeed and will always remember when you fail and cricketers are not professional dancer and singers. More than anything audience love to watch cricket from players not their performance while singing and dancing.
