AIIMS(All India Institute of Medical Sciences) is likely to announce the AIIMS MBBS result 2017 for its MBBS course at AIIMS, New Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Bhubaneshwar, Rishikesh and Raipur today. The result date (14 June 2017) of AIIMS MBBS is as per the tentative schedule for the entrance exam and the Institute will make a formal announcement regarding the same shortly. Candidate can check their AIIMS MBBS result, 2017 on the official website www.aiimsexams.org. The entrance exam was conducted as an online exam on May 28 in two shifts and collectively around 3.5 lakh medical aspirants took the test. The result declaration will open up the admission process for around 700 MBBS seats in 7 AIIMS institutions.

As it is clear that, AIIMS will place the AIIMS MBBS result on their official website, so that students can easily check their results. No other means of communication will serve the candidates in knowing their AIIMS MBBS 2017 result. Like last year, this year too AIIMS has not given any timings of the announcement of AIIMS MBBS result but last year it was witnessed that the AIIMS MBBS result was declared after 5pm, so maybe this year too AIIMS will announce the results after 5pm.
In order to get selected through AIIMS MBBS entrance exam, the candidates are required to reach the minimum cut-off scores. The minimum cut off marks for general category remains 50%, while it is 45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ ST candidates. Since the exam has been conducted in two shifts, Normalisation procedure will be used to level the scores and decided on the ranking of candidates. The Percentile score corresponding to the cut-offs will be used to determine the eligibility.
The AIIMS will also publish the list of the qualified candidates, eligible for the first round. They will release the list into two types; Rank Wise and Roll Number wise. The admissions in AIIMS institutions will be made through 3 rounds of counselling, with the first counselling scheduled to be held from July 3 to 6. The other two rounds of counselling will be organised on August 3 and September 5. If the seats still remain vacant, an open counselling round will be conducted on September 27.
The AIIMS MBBS 2017 merit list will comprise of the top scorers based on the MBBS entrance exam. From the list, as much as 2800 candidates will be called for the 1st round of counselling, four times the actual number of seats. AIIMS MBBS merit list will mention the roll number, name, category, overall rank and counselling date of the shortlisted candidates for the 1st round of counselling.
The Course of studies leading to the award of degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences shall last for a minimum of five and a half academic years including one year of compulsory internship.
Last year, out of 1,89,357 candidates who had appeared for the AIIMS MBBS entrance exam, 7137 candidates had qualified. Sathvik Reddy Erla from Hyderabad had secured the top rank in the AIIMS MBBS entrance exam whereas, the second rank was bagged by Nikhil Bajiya, a reserved category candidate.
