DU Second Cut-off List 2017, Check at www.du.ac.in

Students awaiting the second cut-off list for admission into Delhi University (DU)’s various undergraduate courses can now heave a sigh of relief as the same has been released last night, on June 30. The list is available at the official website www.du.ac.in

It has been observed that although there’s a dip in the percentage required for admission, most of the top renowned colleges have not lowered the cut-off much.

The dip varies between 0.25-1 per cent for the courses most opted such as BA Programme, English (Hons), BCom (Hons), Political Science (Hons) and Physics (Hons).

In order to avoid over-admission, most of the popular colleges kept the cut-off above 95 per cent. The first cut-off list was released on June 23 and now the third cut-off list will be declared on July 7.

Comparison between first and second cut-offs

  • Hansraj and Hindu College lowered their Economic (Honours) cut-off to 97 and 97.25 per cent respectively, down from earlier 97.50 per cent
  • At Shri Ram College of Commerce, the cut-off for BCom (Hons) has come down to 97.5 per cent from 97.75 per cent
  • Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College: The psychology course remained pricey at 98.25 per cent. It relented its journalism cut-off by 0.25 per cent and pegged it at 97.75
  • Also, earlier at 97 per cent, the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce reduced its cut-off to 96.5 per cent for the course of Journalism, similar to Kamla Nehru College’s in the same course.

This is the second consecutive year of the online admission process for UG admissions unlike previous years when it used to be both online and offline. The DU admission process for its 60 undergraduate programmes in 62 colleges with around 54,000 seats began on May 22. Of 56,000 seats only 14,000 seats have been filled, so students need not panic.

Those who meet the cut-off under the second list can take admission between July 1 and July 4.
