JOSSA 2nd Round Seat Allotment, Result to be Declared Today at 5 PM


JoSSA 2017, the second allotment will be released today (4 July) 2017. The allotment results for IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs under Joint Seat Allocation Authority JoSAA 2017 will be declared in the evening today.  As per official notice JoSAA 2nd round seat allotment was scheduled to be released on 4 July, So as per scheduled it is expected that the result will be released today by 5 pm. Students who were waiting for the JoSSA second allotment result will be able to check the allotment status.

Students can get their allotment result from the official website, Students by logging into their personal panel and entering their roll number and other necessary details can easily download their 2017 JoSSA allotment letter.

Every year thousands of students register themselves under JoSSA and this year around 1.5 lakh successful candidates had filled the choices of colleges/ courses through JoSAA 2017, while the total number of choices touched 1.7 crore figure.

In JoSSA 2017, 36,114 candidates were allotted seats in the first round across 97 Institutes in which 11,000 seats were offered in IITs, nearly 18 thousand got seats in NITs, 3 thousand in IITs and some 4,000 students got seats in Other participating GFTIs. The 2nd round seat allocation will be out after 5 pm and after that the students will have two days (5 & 6 July) to accept the seats and report to the allocated Center. The students will have three options – Freeze, Float or Slide – after the allocation of seats. If student satisfied with the allotted seat can lock their option and take admission and if not satisfied then can go for the float option as the can wait for the further rounds by changing their options.

Eligible students registered themselves for JoSAA 2017, and attended the counselling from June 15 to 27. The authority had also published two mock allocation results during this window so as to help the students make better choices of institutions. JoSAA had published the first seat allotment result on 28 June based on the choices filled by the registered students, after which the allotted students were given time up to 3rd July to report at the respective Center.

Students with the allotted seat have to download the Provisional Seat Allocation Letter and an e-challan for the payment of seat acceptance fee. The seat acceptance fee is Rs. 20,000 for candidates with the category tag SC, ST, Gen-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-Pwd and ST-PwD. And Rs. 45,000 for the seat acceptance for all other candidates.

Candidate must carry their original admit card of JEE Advanced 2017 during seat acceptance and admission. No candidate will be allowed to take admission without it. The students who have already accepted an allotted seat will be able to withdraw their admission by reporting at a Reporting Center before the last round of seat allocation. And the available seats for the third round will be released at the official website on 7 July after 10 am, while the seat allocation of third round will be out at 5 pm on the same day. The seat allocation across all the participating institutes is proposed to be done in Seven Rounds, with the last round seat allocation scheduled for 18th July.

And those students who have lost the original admit card can get the duplicate copy of admit card by appearing in person at a zonal IIT with a demand draft of Rs. 1,000 in favour of Organizing Chairman, JEE (Advanced) 2017 payable at Chennai.
