Two New Courses Will be Introduced in IIT Hyderabad from Next Year


Every year Indian Education Council keeps changing the courses as per the requirement.

Indian Institute Of Technology(IIT) is among the best Institutions of our country. This year IIt Hyderabad has introduced two new courses, namely BTech (Minor in Design) and BTech (Engineering Mathematics), from this academic session 2017-18 there two courses will be included. Interested students can apply for these two courses from this academic session only. Just to meet the growing demand of students IIT Hyderabad has introduced the new courses.

A Former Professor from IIT-Hyderabad said “the two new courses i.e BTech (Minor in Design) and BTech (Engineering Mathematics) has been introduced to follow student interest as well as for their own employees who are looking for these skills.

U B Desai Director of IIT-Hyderabad said, “the Multi-disciplinary areas keep coming it’s not only about the academic world but also within the industry. The new fields require new ways of thinking and new skills. So the requirement of this new course is to fulfill such emerging demands.”

Prof D Sukumar Head of Department of Mathematics, IIT-Hyderabad said, “The BTech (Engineering Mathematics) will provide a bigger platform for students to pursue higher studies in Math, such as a PhD in world class Universities.”

He further added that “Or else it will also help students to take up research and development work in Nation and international Laboratories. And there are many more International and national companies which require math analytical skills.”

As the University will intake only 10 students as he said and Students who have applied for the BTech (Engineering Mathematics) course will be exposed in the University of IIT- Hyderabad, to the foundation and fundamentals for higher studies in Mathematics.

Department of Design, IIT Hyderabad Assistant Professor Neelkantan said that the students who have applied for the BTech(Minor in Design), are among the most advantage because “the Minor art of Design course is not just about employability but also supporting the students to be creative thinkers and being initiatives of their own.”

Students intake in  BTech(Minor in Design) will be 15 to 20.

  • Digital heritage
  • Creative product design
  • Visual communication and digital imaging
  • Built-environment/ urban space design
  • Special topics and design
  • Movement Art
  • Technology
  • World and image immersion
