Under Modi Govt “Fall in GDP And Rise in Unemployment” Says Rahul Gandhi

The Vice-President of Congress Rahul Gandhi criticized the Modi government by saying that as per the recent economic indicators, the country’s GDP growth has slowed. Rahul Gandhi shared a post on Twitter relating to a news article on Wednesday’s announcement of GDP figures and tweeted, “Falling #GDP. Rising #unemployment. Every other issue is manufactured to distract us from this fundamental failure.”

According to the data from the government’s central statistics office, it showed an unanticipated fall in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, which has now slowed to its lowest in more than two years in the March quarter. It also indicates that India is no longer the world’s fastest growing economy. The Reuters poll analyst estimated the annual economic growth of 6.1% in the January – March, but it was lower than the estimation as it just touched 6.1% economic growth. Another setback is that it’s also lower than the first three months growth of 2017 of China, which stands at 6.9%.

The Congress spokesperson Ajoy Kumar told reporters, “BJP’s politics have three main ingredients — to spread violence, divert attention (from real issues) and suppress the voice (of dissent). Indulging in violence and vandalism, abusing the top Congress leadership and spreading garbage has become the character of the ruling party.” Kumar was reacting to violence outside the Akbar Road headquarters of the Congress allegedly attacked the Hindu Yuva Vahini workers.
