Kaalakaandi Movie Review: Saif Ali Khan is the only reason to watch this film

Kaalakaandi rating: 2.5/5 Stars

Star Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raaz, Shivam Patil, Amanda Rosario, Shenaz Treasurywala

Director: Akshat Verma

What’s Good: Saif Ali Khan’s weirdly smart performance, some pretty drug trip moments

What’s Bad: The story without its purpose. Pace could be another flaw for some as well.

Loo Break: Except some great moments, you can go for loo break anytime.

Watch or not?: If you’re free this weekend and have nothing special to do, you can go for this film.

Kaalaakandi Movie Review: Star Performance

Saif Ali Khan is the best thing happened to this film. His intoxicated act in the film is something to watch out. Khan, to a certain level, is the only savior to the film. We can’t imagine this film without Saif as it would’ve been a disaster only by then. He has performed really well in the film but the actor needs to pick up his future projects wisely as such films are not going to take him anywhere.

Deepak Dobriyal and Vijay Raaz have done a great job when they’re not unreasonably abusing in the film. There are many other actors in the film but due to lack of story path, Kaalaakandi just puts everything down. The story is ruthlessly senseless.

Kaalakandi Movie Review: Direction, Music

Akshat Verma could be a good director but the story sank everything. Story is the basic need for any film and it destroyed the good direction of the film as well. The director fails to clarify what the story really wants to portray.

Songs by Sameer Uddin and Shashwat Sachdev find no appropriate place in the film. All songs are fine to fill the empty place in the film but nothing else. However, the background music is really impressive, quirky and makes the tone for some amazing scenes.

Kaalakandi Movie Review: The Last Word

Kaalakandi is just bearable because of Saif Ali Khan and his quirky performance. But there’s nothing else that could save this film due to the pathless story of the film.
